Transmission fluid Flush

TRANSMISSION FLUSH, A flush uses the transmission pressure to push all the fluid out. Ensuring that all contaminants, including metal shavings, are removed in the process. a special flush machine is used to remove the old fluid and add the new. This flushing method involves a pump inlet flush where the machine’s line is attached to the pump intake. Here, fluid is transferred via the transmission cooling lines, using the transmissions own internal pump to do the work. No fluid is forced into the transmission. The filter is not replaced.

Transmission fluid service or filter change

Transmission fluid change. Here, you’ll typically remove the old fluid by releasing a drain plug at the bottom of the transmission or by removing the transmission pan, which enables the fluid to drain into a container. Although this method does remove some fluid, there is still a significant amount left behind, usually in the torque converter. That’s because pressure is needed to push the remaining fluid out. Only a transmission flush can do this. this method is usually used if the filter is being replaced or if transmissions cannot be flushed.

Transmission Leak

Transmission leaks can come from many different places. Any seal or gasket, the cooler lines and hoses, external oil coolers or even leaking from porous casings. diagnosis can sometimes be tricky especially with slow leaks or leaking from multiple places.

Many times a power wash is needed and a florescent dye to pinpoint the source of the leak. Some leaks may require transmission removal to repair. Leaking transmission fluid  can cause serious damage and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Transmission & Engine Diagnostic Procedures

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEEDURES, When you bring your vehicle in for service one of first things we will ask is, have there been any check engine or other lights coming on?  After listening to your service concerns, we will perform a quick visual inspection that will usually include a computer code check and under hood inspection. After the visual inspection we will attempt to duplicate your concerns. Please be prepared to answer as many questions about your symptoms or requested service as possible.  The more information we have the faster we can diagnose and repair your vehicle.

After these first initial checks we can then decide on the next course of action. We may need to further scan your vehicles’ on-board computer for codes and data, inspect or listen to suspected components with a stethoscope, perform electrical or hydraulic pressure tests. Once we are able to perform a diagnostic you will be given an estimate for the repairs. We do not charge for initial road test and consultation; we do not charge for computer code checking for most late model vehicles. Most of your vehicle’s problems can be diagnosed right away but some problems may take longer and require more effort.

We utilize the most complete and comprehensive digital library of repair manuals available, (Mitchell on demand) The latest generation of computer scanners, technical hot lines for hard to diagnose problems and an experienced staff that knows how to use its resources.

Custom Rebuilt Transmissions

TRANSMISSION REBUILDS in our shop are the most common, cost effective way of bringing your vehicle back in service. We use only name brand trusted parts and have the ability to adjust the performance of the transmission to prevent repeat failures. Most of our custom rebuilt transmissions come with a 3 year 36-thousand-mile warranty.

The transmissions rebuilt here in our shop all receive a master overhaul kit, torque converter, bands, bushings, filter, internal electronics and factory recommended or equivalent transmission fluid standard. For most vehicles this is all that is necessary to bring the transmission back to factory specification.

After we disassemble and inspect all the components of the transmission any other parts needed such as; pumps, gears, drums and shafts are then purchased. The transmission is then thoroughly cleaned and reassembled. All vehicles are road tested and adjusted for proper operation. The vehicles on board computer is checked and cleared for any transmission related codes. Reprogramming may be required.

Replacement Options

REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION are basically the same as a rebuilt transmission, but the work has been performed by a dedicated transmission repair factory or shipped from the original transmission manufacturing facility.

By opting for a remanufactured transmission, your transmission is being built by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM)  for your particular transmission and  and incorporates all design and product upgrades that weren’t available when it was originally manufactured. This is typically the most expensive option for a rebuild.  Warranties vary greatly depending on the manufacturing company. Most offer 3-year or 100 thousand-mile options.

USED TRANSMISSIONS are perhaps the most tempting option because they tend to come at a much lower price.  However, warranties are much shorter.
